That’s right folks, it’s that time of year when the April showers bring May flowers, ducks and geese return to northern climes, and the Kilpatrick Flyfishers awake from our long winter hibernation. Join us as we dust off our gear and venture down to Danielson Provincial Park at Lake Diefenbaker with visions of trophy northern pike and hog sized rainbows dancing in our heads.
Timing couldn’t be better as you’ll get to apply your new pike fishing expertise learned from Colin McKeown at the Jamboree. Bring your float tube, pontoon, or stay warm and fish from shore. Either way, you’ll have plenty of company.
A group will gather at McDonald’s on 8th Street at around 8:00am on Saturday morning before heading out, but if you want an earlier/later start just meet us at the launch at Danielson Park. The plan is to fish the coulee for the morning and then finish up with a scrumptious fish-fry lunch. If you don’t even wet a line, it’ll be worth the trip for the food alone. Word is that the legendary Brian O’Keefe butter tarts will be up for grabs. Soft drinks will be supplied as well. Be sure to bring a lawn chair.
