Father’s Day Fishout
June brings a lot of excitement for the Kilpatrick Flyfishers, as that means it’s soon time again for the Father’s Day fishout at Narrow Hills Provincial Park. This is our largest event of the year, co-organized with the Northern Waters Flyfishers from Prince Albert. A good number of our members will make the trek up to the park on Wednesday, June 13th, with a handful of die-hards going as early as the weekend before Father’s day. Even if you can only make it out for the weekend, in addition to one of the best fishing destinations in the province, you’ll be treated to a pot-luck dinner that will be talked about for years to come (well, at least until we’re done eating ourselves into a coma). At this time, the all cabins at the Pine Ridge Resort are booked, but there’s plenty of great camping to be had within the park, just check online for availability.
Season Wind Up Steak Dinner
While the fishing season is just getting underway, the Kilpatrick’s will wrap up our season on June 19th at 6:30 PM with a steak dinner at the RCAF Lynx wing. Come and share stories from the fishout over a great meal, and make plans for the rest of the fishing season. There will also be a handful of fly tiers out doing demos and showing some tips and tricks. The steaks are $10 per person and we will be ordering based on demand, so please sign up if you’re planning to come out. If you thought it couldn’t get better, rumor has it that the legendary Brian O’Keefe butter tarts will also be available. See you there.
