This month there will be an initial report on the Mountain Sucker study done this summer in the Cypress Hills. For those who don’t recall, this study involved electro-fishing a number of creeks in Cyprus hills in an effort to determine the size and health of the Mountain Sucker population in the region. This is the only population of Mountain Sucker east of the Rockies, so it is a species of concern in this area.
In addition, Matt Dick will be presenting on the safe care and handling of fish that are caught with the intention of releasing them. Many of us unknowingly do things that can have negative effect on a released fish’s survival rate. This should help us all with the handling of fish.
