Through the March, and all of April, the Kilpatrick Fly Fishers club will be offering a number of classes for club members starting out with fly fishing.
On March 11, 18 and 25, and April 1, and 8 (all Monday evenings) from 7 – 9 pm beginner fly tying classes are available.
This class takes an absolute beginner the basics of tying equipment, materials and tying techniques, by teaching you how to craft some of the most successful flies used in Saskatchewan. Each class builds on the previous week’s knowledge, so that by the end of 5 weeks you will have the skills needed to tie most flies you will find in books, or online.
On March 20-21 from 7 – 9 pm, there is an introduction to fly fishing course
This is a course over two evenings that will give you a detailed introduction to the essential fly fishing equipment (rod/reel/line etc.) as well as an introduction to fish eating habits and the flies that match those habits. When you finish this class you will walk out feeling much more confident when shopping, asking questions, and getting on the water.
